RG Evangelion Unit-01

The RG Evangelion Unit-01 adapts the stylized anatomy of the EVA into an articulated structure that moves much more organically than a conventional robot. Once assembled, it reaches approximately 17.5 cm. It includes a Pallet Rifle, two Progressive Knives, an umbilical cable, an Entry Plug, and six pairs of hands; the chest, abdomen, back, and knees are linked to follow along with poses. The kit's design draws reference from Rebuild of Evangelion, while the original Unit-01 first appears in chapter 1, "Angel Attack," of Neon Genesis Evangelion. As a fun fact, it was the first Evangelion in the Real Grade line and forced Bandai to rethink the concept of the internal frame to imitate muscles and moving plates instead of classic mechanical armor. The purples and greens are well separated and the small pieces on the face add a lot of expression. It can crouch, run, or adopt tense postures without losing the character's tall silhouette. The umbilical cable adds context to the display and also helps distinguish it from a conventional action figure.
