Refund policy
At Model Kit Mania S.L., we want you to shop with confidence. If you have changed your mind, received the wrong product or experienced a problem with your order, you will find our conditions for returns, withdrawal, guarantees and refunds below.
This policy applies without prejudice to the rights granted to consumers under applicable legislation.
1. RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL
If you have made an online purchase as a consumer, you generally have 14 calendar days from receipt of your order to notify us of your decision to withdraw from the purchase, without giving a reason.
You can notify us by emailing web@modelkitmania.com.
To help us process your request, we recommend including:
- Your first name and surname.
- Your order number.
- The product or products you wish to return.
- The date you received the order.
After notifying us of your withdrawal, you must return the products without undue delay and, in any event, within 14 calendar days of that notification.
You do not need prior authorisation from Model Kit Mania S.L. to exercise your legal right of withdrawal.
The period starts when you, or a third party you have nominated other than the carrier, receive the product. If items from the same order are delivered separately, it starts when the last item is received; if an item is delivered in several parts or components, it starts when the last part or component is received. You may also notify us of your withdrawal before receiving the order.
2. CONDITION OF RETURNED PRODUCTS
Products must be returned properly protected and, where applicable, with all components, accessories, instructions and other items originally included.
Consumers may handle a product only as necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning.
If a product has diminished in value because it has been handled beyond what is necessary for those checks, the consumer may be liable for that diminished value under applicable legislation.
3. GUNPLA AND MODEL KITS
For Gunpla and other assembly kits, we recommend checking the contents before starting assembly.
The return must include the following, where they form part of the product:
- Runners or sprues.
- All kit parts.
- Manuals and instructions.
- Adhesive stickers.
- Decals.
- Accessories.
- Any other component originally supplied.
Cutting or separating parts from runners, assembling, gluing, sanding, drilling, painting, applying decals or otherwise modifying a kit may reduce its value.
Where the right of withdrawal is exercised for a product handled beyond what is necessary to check its nature, characteristics and contents, Model Kit Mania S.L. may apply the legally appropriate deduction for diminished value.
Simply opening the box does not automatically mean losing the right of withdrawal. Separating a part from a runner or starting assembly does not, in itself, extinguish that right either. If handling exceeds what is necessary to inspect the kit and reduces its value, the actual, justified depreciation will be assessed individually and communicated to the customer. We will not automatically refuse a return or apply a fixed penalty for cutting a part.
If the legally required information about the right of withdrawal has not been provided, the consumer will not be required to pay compensation for diminished value under Article 108.2 of Spanish consumer legislation.
4. PAINTS, ADHESIVES AND CONSUMABLE PRODUCTS
Paints, primers, varnishes, adhesives, putties and other consumable products must, where the right of withdrawal applies, be returned in a condition that allows their state to be properly checked.
If a product falls within a statutory exception to the right of withdrawal, that exception will apply.
Among other circumstances established by law, these exceptions may affect certain personalised products, goods liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly, and certain sealed goods that are unsuitable for return for health protection or hygiene reasons once unsealed.
5. PERSONALISED PRODUCTS AND 3D PRINTING
The right of withdrawal does not apply to goods made to the customer's specifications or clearly personalised where the exception in Article 103(c) of Spanish consumer legislation applies. You will be informed of this before purchase. Manufacturing a standard product to order or using 3D printing does not automatically exclude the right of withdrawal.
This exception does not restrict the statutory guarantee or rights relating to defects, damage or lack of conformity of a personalised product.
This may include certain 3D printing jobs, parts made to the customer's specific measurements or instructions, and other personalised commissions.
If production of a personalised order has not yet started, contact us as soon as possible at web@modelkitmania.com to ask whether cancellation is possible.
6. RETURN COSTS WHEN EXERCISING THE RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL
When a return is made solely through the exercise of the right of withdrawal, the customer bears the direct cost of returning the goods.
We recommend using a tracked delivery service and protecting the products properly to prevent damage in transit.

We recommend contacting us beforehand at web@modelkitmania.com, quoting your order number, so that we can identify the return and help process it.
This prior communication does not mean that exercising the right of withdrawal is subject to our authorisation.
7. REFUNDS FOLLOWING WITHDRAWAL
In the case of a valid withdrawal, Model Kit Mania S.L. will reimburse the payments received as required by law, including the initial standard delivery costs.
If the customer expressly chose a delivery method more expensive than our least expensive standard delivery method, we are not required to reimburse the additional cost of that method.
The refund will be made using the same payment method used for the purchase, unless another method that does not incur costs for the consumer is expressly agreed.
The refund will be made without undue delay and no later than 14 calendar days after we receive the withdrawal notification. Unless we have offered to collect the goods, we may withhold it until we have received the products or evidence that they have been sent back, whichever occurs first.
8. PRODUCTS DAMAGED IN TRANSIT
If you receive an order with visible damage, contact us as soon as possible at web@modelkitmania.com.
To help us handle the issue, temporarily keep:
- The product.
- The original product box.
- The outer shipping packaging.
- The internal protective materials.
- The shipping label.
We may request photographs of the product and packaging to document the issue with the carrier. Photographs and retaining the packaging help us check the issue, but they are not absolute requirements that remove your legal rights: other suitable evidence may be considered. A missing photograph or failure to note damage on the delivery slip does not, in itself, mean losing those rights.
Where the damage is attributable to transport or to Model Kit Mania S.L., we will arrange the appropriate solution without passing on costs that we are legally required to bear.
9. INCORRECT PRODUCT
If you have received a product different from the one ordered, contact web@modelkitmania.com, quoting your order number and, if possible, attaching photographs of the product received.
Where the error is the responsibility of Model Kit Mania S.L., we will bear the costs necessary to resolve the issue.
If you have received an incorrect item, we recommend that you do not assemble, paint or modify it, or open consumable products, before contacting us.
10. MISSING OR DEFECTIVE PARTS IN GUNPLA AND MODEL KITS
Before starting assembly, we recommend checking the runners, instructions and other components included in the kit.
If you find a missing, duplicate or damaged part, or a possible manufacturing defect, contact web@modelkitmania.com with:
- Your order number.
- The product name.
- A description of the problem.
- The runner and part number, where possible.
- Photographs that help identify the issue.
We will assess the case and arrange the appropriate solution under the statutory guarantee and other applicable legislation.
11. STATUTORY GUARANTEE
Products sold by Model Kit Mania S.L. are covered by the applicable statutory guarantee.
For new goods sold to consumers in Spain, the seller is generally liable for a lack of conformity that becomes apparent within 3 years of delivery.
Where there is a lack of conformity, remedies such as repair, replacement, a price reduction or termination of the contract may apply, depending on the circumstances and statutory requirements.
This returns policy does not restrict or replace rights arising from the statutory guarantee.
12. DAMAGE CAUSED DURING ASSEMBLY OR USE
Where applicable, damage caused by improper use or handling of the product will not be considered a manufacturing defect. Examples include:
- Incorrect cutting of parts.
- Breakage during assembly.
- Improper use of tools.
- Incorrect assembly.
- Improper application of paints, solvents or chemicals.
- Modifications made by the user.
- Accidental damage.
- Normal wear from use.
This does not restrict the consumer's rights where an original lack of conformity genuinely exists.
13. CANCELLING ORDERS BEFORE DISPATCH
If you wish to cancel an order, contact us as soon as possible at web@modelkitmania.com.
If the order has not yet been sent and we can stop its preparation or dispatch, we will arrange cancellation and the corresponding refund.
If the order has already been dispatched, you may notify us of withdrawal without waiting to receive it, where that right applies. We will coordinate the return or interruption of delivery where possible. Costs and refunds will be governed by sections 6 and 7 of this policy, without automatically excluding the initial standard delivery costs.
14. PRE-ORDERS AND RESERVATIONS
Products identified as pre-orders or reservations may have an estimated availability date supplied by the manufacturer or distributor.
These dates are estimates and may change due to circumstances beyond the control of Model Kit Mania S.L.
Specific conditions applicable to a pre-order will be stated where appropriate, always respecting the non-waivable consumer rights granted by applicable legislation.
15. EXCHANGING FOR ANOTHER PRODUCT
If you wish to exchange a product for another, contact web@modelkitmania.com.
Where there is no product defect or error attributable to Model Kit Mania S.L., the exchange may be handled as a return of the original product and a new purchase, without prejudice to the consumer's statutory rights.
16. REFUND PROCESSING TIMES
Where a refund is due, we will process it without undue delay and within the time limits established by law.
After Model Kit Mania S.L. issues a refund, the additional time required for it to appear in the customer's account depends on their bank, payment provider or card issuer.
17. WITHDRAWAL FORM
You may use the following template to notify us of withdrawal.
Using it is not compulsory. You may also make any other unequivocal statement communicating your decision to withdraw from the contract.
