AMMO Light Rust Drybrush 40 ml (A.MIG-0610)
Dry brushing is a traditional technique used in scale modelling for decades. Its purpose is to emphasise textures and details and give scale models a greater sense of depth. Because it is quick and easy to apply, it was used in the film industry to decorate sets and miniature models, and for many years it was the technique most widely used by modellers worldwide. Although other painting techniques have since been developed for weathering and adding atmosphere to models, dry brushing remains widely used on dioramas, terrain, buildings, science-fiction and fantasy subjects, wargaming models, figures and military vehicles. It is a versatile, easy-to-apply technique that can produce interesting effects by adding depth, creating textures or highlighting details on your model.
AMMO has developed a paint specifically for this purpose, with a density and characteristics optimised for this technique. DIO DRY BRUSH paints are a practical solution for anyone who enjoys this classic technique: one of the simplest, yet also one of the most effective and easy to use. Choose a brush of the appropriate size, load it with paint, then wipe it on paper or a cloth to remove the excess until it appears dry. You can then brush gently over the details of your model to create a smooth, even texture.
DIO DRY BRUSH colours include light shades for giving your model a worn appearance, as well as dark, metallic, rust and chipping shades for creating other effects.
Bottles in the DDB range have a wide opening to accommodate different brushes and contain enough paint for many projects. The paint is water-based and easy to clean up. It is non-toxic and odourless, becomes touch-dry within a few minutes, and withstands enamel and oil washes.
The application method is straightforward and consists of three simple steps:
- Dip the brush into a moderate amount of paint directly from the bottle.
- Remove excess paint on an absorbent surface.
- Brush gently over the model's details to highlight them and enhance the sense of depth.
